FORMULA-SLD-HER-001 // MEDITERRANEAN HERB BLEND No.1

Mediterranean Herb Mix for Cooking & Olive Oil

DESCRIPTION

Mediterranean Herb Blend No.1 is an aromatic herb mixture inspired by the classic herb traditions of southern Europe, particularly blends similar to herbes de Provence. While rooted in those traditions, this formula expands the profile by incorporating additional herbs and black lemon powder to create greater aromatic depth.

The blend combines thyme, basil, oregano, marjoram, sage, and rosemary with fenugreek leaves and Palestinian thyme, producing a layered herbal structure that feels both familiar and distinctive. The addition of black lemon introduces a deep citrus aroma that enhances the herbs without contributing acidity, giving the blend a sophisticated aromatic brightness.

Because herbs vary greatly in intensity depending on their origin, it is important to adjust proportions slightly if needed. Mediterranean herbs such as oregano or thyme can differ dramatically in strength depending on the variety, growing conditions, and drying process. The formula should therefore be treated as a guide that can adapt to the ingredients available.

The herbs are intentionally kept coarsely broken rather than finely ground, preserving their structure and allowing the aromas to remain protected until use. Grinding or crushing the blend immediately before use releases the full aromatic intensity.

Mediterranean Herb Blend No.1 functions as a versatile everyday seasoning that integrates seamlessly into a wide range of Mediterranean-inspired preparations.

NOTES

Herbs vary significantly in potency depending on their origin and drying method. Oregano and thyme are especially variable across Mediterranean regions, ranging from mild and grassy to intensely aromatic.

For best results, evaluate the strength of the herbs you have available and adjust quantities slightly if necessary.

Keeping the herbs coarsely textured preserves their aromatic oils. Crushing the herbs immediately before use releases their full fragrance.

The addition of black lemon powder introduces a deep citrus note that enhances the herbal character without adding acidity.

Experimental Uses

Possible explorations include:

• herb salt made with the blend
• herb-infused olive oil
• Mediterranean herb butter
• herb crusts for roasted vegetables
• seasoning base for tomato sauces
• herb seasoning for grilled flatbreads

Photo Observation

The blend shows a diverse structure of dried leaves and stems, reflecting the intentional coarse texture. Variations in color—from pale green basil fragments to darker rosemary needles—illustrate the mixture of herb types. The small darker particles correspond to the black lemon powder, which provides the citrus aromatic component.
